A full install probably needs much more than that, but I don't know exactly. For sure you can manually install a much smaller amount, but I'm not sure how customizable the "old" installer is. Hopefully latest (0.13.0, apparently) works better, but newer ones sadly don't support fat:/ (which was quite convenient in oldie-but-goodie 0.9.0).
