I got a SB PCI 16 bit sound card I picked up working
by installing first to windows 98. Unfortunately,
there is no way to install in a dos only environment
directly. Worse, I have to create a Windows
directory tree with mywindows98/system/nameofpcidriver.???
For dos initialization of the sound card, the driver's
location in the Windows directory is hard coded.
Anyone know of an open dos driver for the sound
blaster 16 PCI sound card? I probably shouldn't
call it a driver. What it really is is a
virtualization layer to make legacy apps that
work with a sound blaster 16 recognize it.
