Hi!

Crynwr.com supports mostly older hardware, did you already try
the drivers collected on www.georgpotthast.de/sioux/packet.htm ?
(see our link list: www.freedos.org/freedos/links/ :-))

True. If you see instabilities, please let us know.

Try dosfsck and tell which features scandisk has which
are missing in dosfsck yet :-). One known difference
is that scandisk has a "text graphical" (TUI) interface
while dosfsck simply uses plain text on the console.
It would probably be easy to give dosfsck "eye candy".

Defragging is inherently slow. Did you compare our
defrag speed to the speed of some other tools?

We cannot even access files on NTFS... Did you try
using a GPARTED boot CD? It gives you a nice graphical
frontend, is based on Linux, and it can at least resize
NTFS volumes. I guess shrinking a volume and unshrinking
it is similar to defragging it, but of course it is more
risky in some aspects. The "ntfsresize" tool used by the
gparted cdrom also does some NTFS checks first.

Depends. You can install 20 different web browsers in
Linux at the same time and even a default install already
gives you a choice of for example 3 browsers... :-). So
in Linux you are not forced to use "Linternet Explorer".
