Virtual PC doesn't refuse to read the FreeDOS floppy at all, neither Version 2004 nor Version 2007 beta. VPC is fully working with FreeDOS and even better than with MSDOS. Both FreeDOS boot sectors (SYS 3.2 and 3.6a) are working great under VPC. Your problem that VPC is refusing to read freedos floppy might be related to something other than VPC.
