O.K. did it and found out the following... So far no pc crashes with vds disabled (I have not tested all pcs yet, but these having had problems this morning don't crash anymore when running emm386) Concerning the microsoft network client I don't know how to do further tests. Perhaps you can help. Some machines work, some won't, but at this time it seems that the client only stops at two points depending on the hardware: First when trying to bind the TCP/IP and Netbios protocols to the adapter (calling netbind.com) and second when trying to get an ip-address over DHCP. These problems are not relying on the build in ethernet card, since for example an onboard Intel PRO 1000 ethernet adapter works on one hardware and on another it won't. Any further ideas?
