Good day, all:

OK, I am AMAZED at Datapol's technical support. I sent them
the boot floppy and received a patched version of NTFS4DOS
and received the following e-mail:

-----

I've played a little with FreeDOS and NOT using UMBPCI. I found that the extender we use in the standard package (DOS/32) doesn't fit together with EMM386 well. I changed the extender to CAUSEWAY and now I get 612KB lower memory free.

Hope this helps

[...] If you need the same "hack" for future versions you also und unbind DOS/32 from NTFS4DOS.exe and rebind it using CAUSEWAY. Both extenders are free available.

-----

Works like a charm.
Conventional Memory 636K 103K 533K
Upper Memory 64K 30K 34K

And, this was with NTFS4DOS creating a RAM disk. :-)

Thanks for all of your help (especially Eric Auer and
Michael Devore!
