Follow-up Comment #5, patch #7874 (project freeciv):
Sorry, in testing it seems to work now. It does know to compile
../client/helpdata.c in order to get ../client/helpdata.lo.
However, I'm quite sure that this didn't work back when the 'if CLIENT' (or
equivalent in then-current setup) guard was added for the very reason it
didn't work. ;-)
Can you test if it works also with oldest automake version we support? (recent
versions have fixed some problems related to source files in other directories
than Makefile.am itself)
