Follow-up Comment #12, bug #18243 (project freeciv):
I wouldn't use too much time on this now. It's quite possible that problem
gets fixed as side effect of rewriting drawing code to use cairo.
That's assuming that we change also gtk2-client to use cairo, which I think
we should do to keep codebases of gtk2- and gtk3-clients more alike to ease
maintenance work.
