General word to the public:

The first time you use portupgrade, be prepared to have your computer
spend a *long* time upgrading ports.

I had 187 ports on my computer when I started it the first time.  It
took almost a day on a twin-CPU Pentium 1G system.  Ouch.

Of course, I had Mozilla, my wife's KDE, gnucash... most of the really
nasty stuff in the Ports Collection, actually.  Running those upgrades
by hand would have taken a week, not to mention sorting out the
dependencies.
