If so, you might try hooking up the new drive on the cable to see if it works, and only springing for the new card if it doesn't. Or you might think about buying a cable with additional connectors. Either way would be cheaper than a controller card (though of course an Ultra ATA 133 controller card is a nice thing to have:).
