On second thoughts, this looks like EVERSIONNUMBERGOINGBACKWARDS; alphabetical characters in versions usually indicate beta status and are numerically less than the numeric version. Perhaps a PORTEPOCH bump is in order, or some creativity with DISTVERSION.
