-d 3ware,0 not working with 3ware 9550(sx)

I sent this over to the smartmontools mailing list, but thought I would 
post it here in case anyone else has run into this:

Using smartmontools 5.38 under FreeBSD 6/7 doesn't seem to work with the
following card:
