Please be more specific. I guess we need at least
- the version of the OS
- the result of 'ifconfig -a'
- the result of 'gifconfig -a'
- the result of 'netstat -rnal'
- the exact output of ping (do not *describe* the situation, please.
just copy and paste the output -by script(1) etc-)
