Indeed. I suspect that at the moment the Linux stack will be
slightly faster for fast transfers while the FreeBSD stack will
be better able to handle 6000 dialup users downloading files at
the same time.
Then again, this is just a hunch based on what I've seen the
developers talk about and I haven't actually touched much of the
networking code.
Until these things are measured, assuming that performance of
either of these systems will be better is just that, assumption.
