The same is true for OpenBSD. I too run out of partitions and am in favor of this change. I'm not sure, but I think the OpenBSD folks did something that allowed them to remain compatible with the 8 partition labels. In any case, it groks SunOS and Solaris labels on my OpenBSD sparc.
