Binary sect the sys/dev/usb/controller/xhci.c revision history? There has been several bug reports for the Lynx point, and others XHCI chipsets are working just fine.

Those USB timeouts are most likely due to port routing not working properly.
It is because intel did something special to their lynx point series.

Try to set :

hw.usb.xhci.xhci_port_route = "-1"

in /boot/loader.conf
