What's wrong with DNS-based load-balancing solution?
I.e.

        cvsup[1-8]      CNAME   cvsup   ; for backward compatibility
        cvsup           A       x.x.x.x
                        A       y.y.y.y
                        ...
                        A       z.z.z.z
