After taking a break from this discussion, I do think that I like the idea of wrapping boot messages in a sane way at column n (= 80 by default) so long as one knows where messages from one device end and the next one begin. I'd also oppose things like foo0: ...... irq foo0: 9 as opposed to foo0: ...... foo0: irq 9 Unless there were so many that this couldn't be avoided...
