It's probably worth noting that the MacPro1,1 is a bit weird in that it's generally a fully 64 bit system, *except* it has only 32 bit EFI. Apparently, FreeBSD does not support EFI32, see #215143. So, I have used the technique below to remove the EFI part from the CD .iso: https://mattgadient.com/linux-dvd-images-and-how-to-for-32-bit-efi-macs-late-2006-models/ As I said, this results in a working OpenBSD 6.6 DVD, and according to that site, many linux distros too.
