is just to make my point that the current release works with lazarus at

Thank you for testing. It's likely that they didn't yet have the time to
remove the support for Free Pascal/Lazarus and the older Delphi versions...
That being said I wouldn't spend a single minute more on firedac it has
already chosen a path that I can not follow and I wouldn't recommend it
to any one, for all intents and purposes I agree with you it is a waste
of time.
Indeed. Like was the case with the project FireMonkey is based on...
