I'm the third mentor (out of 3 who voted AFAICS) to vote for > 4. Classic Model (see Description 2) on SVN which hopefully sends a strong signal to this PPMC. The tools that are in place are used successfully by projects that are much larger and busier than Flex. My *strong* recommendation as a mentor is for this project to start creating value for its users *now*, by writing code that improves the product, and releasing that with the tools that are in place. Less talk, more action. A possible switch to Git or to a fancy branching model can then happen based on actual problems encountered while doing that, as opposed to hypothetic "I'm sure we're going to need a rocket" scenarios.
