Integrated Justin's last two patches.
Moved redundant code into function calls
Implemented aggressive clean up and garbage collection (including
Roland's suggestions) Memory consumption is mostly in check now.
Cleaned up MXML code making it more readable
Next up on my plate:
1. Putting up the badge installer on my whiteboard
2. Cleaning up en_US strings from codebase and moving them to runtime locale
file.
