You're not on the list of commiters [1], so therefore the JIRA ticket cannot be assigned to you. You will need to lobby for a commiter to hold that responsibility and apply any changes you submit. This is how the process would be for non-commiters, I believe, until you become a commiter yourself, which is based on your contributions and PPMC deciding to make you a commiter at some point (which has been discussed at length in previous posts). - Doug [1] http://incubator.apache.org/flex/team.html
