I use an Ilford antistatic cloth (the orange cloth) on 35mm and 120 neg. I don't shoot
slides.

On my home-processed b&w it does a pretty good job; on lab-processed C-41 a lot of the 
gunk

has dried onto the emulsion and resists this approach.
