I'm not sure about removing the program itself from the hard drive, but to prevent it 
from loading just remove its icon from the Startup folder in the "Start-Programs" menu.

You can also do this by "Run-msconfig-Startup" - uncheck the box for Adobe Gamma.

Either way the next time you boot up Adobe Gamma will not load.

Downloading the Spectrocam program update  1.6.2 and trashing Adobe Gamma as
well as all the spectrocam, &
colorsync preferences did the trick.

I now have a calibrated monitor for the first time.  A scary thought.
