Thanks Ferdi for your response. In this case, the RTMP server is located in the localhost. In fact it is a Dell laptop with Intel CPU running Ubuntu 20.04 OS with default settings/display manager. I switched to Ubuntu 22.04 OS and found the same behvaior (no improvment). Let me know if you need any specific details. Thanks

Those are hardware dependent, so without knowing anything about your hardware there can be no specific answer. One other option is to upgrade to a newer Ubuntu version, there have been some notable scheduler changes in the newer kernels that improve performance for this kind of tasks when switching between foreground and background. From my own experience on older hardware, it can really make a difference in performance, not by being faster, but by having less latency. _______________________________________________ ffmpeg-user mailing list ffmpeg-user@ffmpeg.org https://ffmpeg.org/mailman/listinfo/ffmpeg-user To unsubscribe, visit link above, or email ffmpeg-user-requ...@ffmpeg.org with subject "unsubscribe". _______________________________________________ ffmpeg-user mailing list ffmpeg-user@ffmpeg.org https://ffmpeg.org/mailman/listinfo/ffmpeg-user To unsubscribe, visit link above, or email ffmpeg-user-requ...@ffmpeg.org with subject "unsubscribe".
