I have no idea. Carl should know better. In any case, I've checked old
versions of qtrle.c, and there the 1-bit mode was just a placeholder. I
don't know who implemented it after that. In any case, it's incomplete,
judging by all the opcodes used in the XAnim source. In spite of that,
the majority of files play just fine.
