Spreading hate and conspiracy theories and walls of text is much simpler than checking for accuracy and validating your claims. It's not a matter of "version" of events, there is a list of things that happened that impacted the evolution of this project and IRL life of several of its members. It's always easier to write a made up controversy that brings up engagement, but fact checking is hard to do and time consuming, while writing lies and "versions" of history is quick. And people will remember the version that aligns with the view of the world. You can't put the onus of double checking every single (wrong) claim in this wall of text on the respondents, but rather use the CC powers to validate the claims of someone who already been suspended by the CC for conspiracy theories and validate whether this wall of toxicity contributes anything to the discussion (hint: it doesn't) and take the appropriate countermeasures. -- Vittorio _______________________________________________ ffmpeg-devel mailing list ffmpeg-devel@ffmpeg.org https://ffmpeg.org/mailman/listinfo/ffmpeg-devel To unsubscribe, visit link above, or email ffmpeg-devel-requ...@ffmpeg.org with subject "unsubscribe".
