Does that even exist? I mean, we have a hard dependency on huge C compilers, why would a 120kB almost¹ standalone C program solving most of the library detection issues is a problem for any user? Note: pkg-config will never be a hard dep to build FFmpeg, just a build requirement if and only if you want (some/most) external libs.
