if you want to know why something doesnt work you have to look at the
code, maybe add a printf(), rebuild and see where it goes wrong and
that then should be a good hint on what isnt set or set wrogly or
maybe theres even a bug ...

or

you could compare your code against ffmpeg*.c
assuming that links to the same .so
but thats harder
