ATM I have to go dmz to videoconference, so I definitely wouldn't want it to be as root. I need to find out about H.232 tunneling and proxying to get round this, but I don't seem to be finding the right starting place for learning. > I su'ered, changed the permissions to 777 (yeah I know - just > temporarily to see if I could get it to work), group and owner to > my normal user account, and still....it won't let my normal user > access video0. I know that /dev/video0 was created, but of course it's dynamic and tends to disappear when not needed. As soon as I got it loaded GM did at least let me say that I wanted the image from there, not 'Picture', though it didn't work. I don't remember what the permissions were, though. I'll check it out as soon as I can. I'll get back to you. Anne
