To temporarily move this thread into a new direction, I have a gnome-ish
question. How does one get antialiasing of fonts working in Gnome or with
Gnome apps? My fonts are aa in KDE but when I start a non-KDE app (Mozilla,
any gtk or gnome app) the fonts are, naturally, ugly as hell.

I don't use Gnome often but I do use some Gnome/gtk-based apps and would like
very much for their fonts to look as good as those in KDE. Surely there is a
way to do this in Gnome?
