Indeed. With RH and MDk, the settings are not made like described in PCMCIA How-To. All is set in /etc/sysconfig/pcmcia, like you said. But the key, essid (the name of your wireless network), and the operating mode (Ad-Hoc, Managed,...) are described in the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethx (ethx stands for your wireless device). Then /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifup will read ifcfg-ethx, and send the values to iwconfig (iwconfig is the command for setting a wireless network). Read carefully your ifup for knowing all the values, and their respecting names and strings , you can set. Or you can set it directly by hand with iwconfig.
