you can try to see what are the differences between
the new config files and the 8.1 version and work from
there:

#diff /etc/httpd/conf/commonhttpd.conf
/dir/old/commonhttpd.conf
#diff /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf /dir/old/httpd.conf

*im assuming your new configs are on /etc/httpd/conf
and the old configs are on /dir/old*

civileme might be able to help you with regards what
are the changes that mandrake tweaked for this
version.
