I was wondering what is the best way to set up a network.
I currently have two computers both dual booting between win98 and linux
although I am using win98 less and less. mostly for games and quicken. I
have cable internet access and two ip addresses. My windows is set up so
netbeui is the protocol between the two computers in an attempt to keep the
network away from the internet. The cable goes directly into my switch.
How should I network Linux. Can Linux use netbeui?
Should I switch to tcp/ip? If so can I assign a local and internet IP
address or do I have to use the internet IP. They are both dynamic IP
addresses but haven't change in at least a couple of weeks. If I switch to
tcp/ip would windows become completely insecure?
What does everyone think the best setup would be?
Thanks
