Yes, also keep in mind that XP home does NOT support domain based networks,
and its support of peer sharing is limited to 5 PC networks...

I had it sort of working with 2000 SP2, but that was a snapshot version of
samba..

Subject: [expert] WinXP and SAMBA

Hi all. Does anyone know why WinXP would not be compatible with SAMBA in
Linux 8.1? My buddy installed WinXP on his client machine which used to
talk to the Linux box real well and now all of a sudden he cant recognize
the Linux box on his network. Could this be because you have to install
Services for Unix on XP? Is it because he could have his IP scheme wrong on
his XP machine?

Please help. TIA.

Thrashin
