Samba 2.2.0 + Win2K SP 2 or WinXP With Service Pack 2 Microsoft have added some new RPC calls and uses them to join the domain, the same RPC calls are found on Windows XP Beta release. Samba 2.2.0 does not have this new set of RPC calls and this make problems to Win2000-sp2 and winXP. Samba Team have yet fixed this bug in CVS tree and it will be solved in samba-2.2.1 for both Win2000-sp2 and WindowsXP Basically Win2k SP2 and WinXP "break" SMB John B -----Original Message----- From: Todd Zashin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, November 01, 2001 12:53 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [expert] WinXP and SAMBA Hi all. Does anyone know why WinXP would not be compatible with SAMBA in Linux 8.1? My buddy installed WinXP on his client machine which used to talk to the Linux box real well and now all of a sudden he cant recognize the Linux box on his network. Could this be because you have to install Services for Unix on XP? Is it because he could have his IP scheme wrong on his XP machine? Please help. TIA. Thrashin
