    I dunno.  I'm pretty sure Texstar mentions he built them on an 8.0 
system on his web page.  I installed them on Freq2 + lot'sa cooker, 
glibc-2.2.4-2mdk (from src.rpm), XFree86-4.1.0-8tex, libqt2-2.3.1-8tex.
