I have the same problem (or similar) with 2.4.9 from kernel.org. Using 2.4.7 I can do
what I want on the net but with 2.4.9 I can connect but that's it.
Netscape starts to open and crashes, Konqueror starts to open then idles
continually while fetchmail says "fetchmail: couldn't find canonical DNS
name of mail.optusnet.com.au all mailserver name lookups failed, exiting".
So it looks like 2.4.9 is broken for now in the DNS lookup area. Anyone
know how to fix that? Thanks.
