Hey all,

I'm running Mandrake 8.0 with kernel 2.4.3-20mdk and run a Celeron 633, 20GB
HD and 33.6 USR Sportster Modem. I just recently upgraded my kernel to 2.4.9
and the problem lies in kppp no longer being able to connect to my ISP. At
first I was getting an error code: 4 which was no problem.. I forgot to
install PPP into the kernel :)

BUT.. after I did that.. I now get an error code: 1 which is "An immediately
fatal error of some kind occurred, such as an essential system call failing,
or running out of virtual memory."

Any ideas on what to try would be greatly appreciated. I am just really
doing this temporarily since I will be in school with high speed (yay!) and
my computer will be running as the server for the house, but I would still
like to figure out what I have to turn on or off to make the dial-up work...

Thanks in advance
