I've been running a Mandrake 7.2 install on my Thinkpad X20 (ATI Rage Mobility video card). I had previously upgraded to the XFree86 4.0.3-2.1mdk RPMS which gave me font anti-aliasing. When the final version of Mandrake 8.0 was released, I burned the CDs and used them to upgrade my existing installation. (This resulted in the XFree86 4.0.3-7mdk RPMS being installed.) Anti-aliased fonts no longer work. The log file (/var/log/XFree86.0.log) shows the RENDER extension being loaded. However if you execute xdpyinfo, the output does not show RENDER as being there. In any case a quick glance at Mozilla shows anti-aliasing isn't working. I tried upgrading to the 4.0.3-7.1mdk RPMS, but there seems to be an issue with libXft.so.1 being removed and not replaced. I'm out of ideas at this point. -wch
