[expert] Type1 fonts

Dear Experts,
I would like to add a Type1 font to my Mandrake 7.2 system. Previously 
I was a SuSE user, and I normally used "type1inst" to add new fonts. In 
my Mandrake system I do not find this utility. Can some kind expert tell 
me where I can find a description (a howto or similar document) on how 
to add new Postscript fonts to the Mandrake system?
