Hello,

Ok here is the problem:
I boot from the harddsik boot disk or via the specific batch
file to the mandrake 7.1 installation programm.
My install files are on hdc: 500 primary FAT, 5 GB e2fs, 1,5 GB
FAT (here are the mandrake 7.1 files), rest is NTFS
The e2fs, 1,5 GB FAT, NTFS are in an extended Part.

Ok, I come to the point where i have to tel the installer
where the mandrake files are on the disk. I choose the
1,5 GB fat part. and get an mount error. When I choose
the 500 MB Part, I get an error and it shows the directories
of that part, that means hardisk acces works for that partition.

But when I look on the other console I find the error message
'insmod ide...' failed don't care (i don't remember the exact
error message but it sound in that way) on the other console
I see the mount command and an error message 'wrong parameter.
There is an parameter (the size ?) with a minus sign:
mount(...., -15456...,.)

I check some other web forums for mandrake users and there
were some other guy that had the same problem, some guys
partition was overwritten, mine too, when I used disk druid.
I had luck that only the Mandrake files and some other useless
stuff was deleted.

I used Mandrake 6.1 before and haven't such problems.

Now you ask: why don't you update from Mandrake 6.1 ?
Yes I can, but I had repartitionized my hdds and thougt
'make a clean instal with mandr. 7.1' I am too lazy
first to install 6.1 and then update to 7.1. Only when
there is no other way.

I hope this bug is fixed in 7.2.

Can anyone help ?
