Athlons are going socket rather then slot. Do not buy a slotted athlon. I'd wait a few months and get a DDR Ram motherboard. If you can't wait, I am very happy with my Asus A7V mobo and Duron 600. Thunderbird athlons use the same mobo. Also, SMP mobo's are supposed to be coming soon for athlon if yer into that kind of thing.
