Okay, but you don't need to build an RPM to do that -- just take a standard kernel source RPM or a kernel tarball and build a custom kernel from that. What you are trying to do is a first step into rocket science -- not for the meek. As I said, if you have a large organization, and you need to do pre-configured kernel binary (or even source) updates on 15-500 machines, then yeah, maybe you would build an RPM. 99% of people don't need to do this... -Stephen-
