If you can't ping or telnet to it, then I would make absolutely sure that it is properly connected to the network. You may not even have a working connection. What's more -- if you can't ping or telnet to it, how do you know that it has an IP of 192.0.0.192? Does it have an LED display that tells you this? If no, then *assume nothing*. Have you tried setting the network mask on one of your machines to 255.0.0.0 before you tried to ping it? I am a little blown away that HP would dare let a print server *default* to a non-private IP. That's really unprofessional. I would check again. Have you read the JetDirect documentation? Have you looked at HPs web-site? Print servers like it when you read the manual =) (speaking from personal experience). -Stephen-
