Welcome back. I was wondering what happened to you after the 'great
guru in the sky' threw a tantrum. That was really mature stuff for a
semi-professional - NOT! It's called narcissism.
In any case, I have been testing one of the BSD distributions and it
installs without a glitch, while MDK7.1 choked, gagged and did a 'kernel
panic'. I concur with your estimate and I'm going to go get a refund
too!
These folks poke all kinds of ridicule at M$ but, frankly, I've never
had M$ software fall apart like MDK7.1.
As far as I can tell, all of the *nix's come without aid or assistance.
I will also admit that I will have to do a lot of studying to get a
workable system. One of the things I noted was that BSD seems tighter
and faster. That's only subjective for now and I'll let you know more
later.
However, consider the possibility that an installation that is less
'defective' will require less assistance and guidance (I hope). The
burden is stii on us to acquire the knowledge and skill. However,
none of us need patronizing snot in place of guidance.
