RE: [expert] Weird InstallationUnderstandable... that the SuSE may have had
a better install...although Mandrake is fairly well configured/optimised,
and a breeze to install (usually) it also install an bloody s-load of crap
you may never even discover you have, let alone use.

I have noticed htat the workstation install of MDK7.1 is at least a third
larger than the workstation install of RH6.2, I don't know how much "stuff"
SuSE puts on you hard drive.

Not to say that it absolutely *was* a hard-drive-space issue, but if you
want to try MDK again, maybe you can try to eliminate some of the unecessary
packages when you setup and see what happens.

Thanks for the input but the partition was partition was clean.. After the
error occurred I fdisk'd the partition and then recreated it. The really
strange thing is that I installed SUSE 6.4 on the  same partition and
everything went like clockwork.. which lead me in the direction that
something wasn't linking correctly.

check your disk space.. maybe its 100% full (run "df -h")
