Hi,

I had actually read this in the list archive and tried but without
success. I have the Lucida bitmap fonts installed and xlsfonts does list
them:

$ xlsfonts | grep 'lucidatypewriter-bold.*normal' | grep -w 14
-b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-sans-14-100-100-100-m-80-iso10646-1
-b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-sans-14-100-100-100-m-80-iso8859-1
-b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-sans-14-140-75-75-m-90-iso10646-1
-b&h-lucidatypewriter-bold-r-normal-sans-14-140-75-75-m-90-iso8859-1

However, when I set up exmh like you have it, I still get DejaVuSans, but
bold instead of normal. It's also no longer fixed width.

These are the font resources opened when I use your settings:

$ lsof -p 31430 | grep fonts
lsof: WARNING: can't stat() tracefs file system /sys/kernel/debug/tracing
      Output information may be incomplete.
exmh    31430 bodo  mem    REG                8,2   141324  9049296

exmh    31430 bodo  mem    REG                8,2   757076  7867556

/usr/share/fonts/truetype/dejavu/DejaVuSansMono.ttf

And these are the resources used when I go back to the app-defaults:

$ lsof -p 4542 | grep fonts
lsof: WARNING: can't stat() tracefs file system /sys/kernel/debug/tracing
      Output information may be incomplete.
exmh    4542 bodo  mem    REG                8,2   141324  9049296

exmh    4542 bodo  mem    REG                8,2   139480  9049294

I'm gessing you've compiled Tk with "--disable-xft" or you've somehow
convinced fontconfig to serve bitmap fonts as well.

But as I said, I'm happy with the font itself, all I want to achieve is
reducing the font size.

Is there a way to change the font size in exmh without affecting the whole
system?

Thanks,
Bodo
