Hi,
it's only a file name, related to the API version of the library. I've
installed /usr/lib64/libsoup-2.4.so too. The package version is the
important bit. You may have installed also the development files, as
you build against it the evolution-data-server and co., thus the
command like this:
$ pkg-config --modversion libsoup-2.4
may show the software version (in my case 2.72.0).
